ADA Remediation
Build with accessibility in mind. Constant testing to maintain compliance.
ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) remediation is the process of making digital content, like websites and documents, accessible to people with disabilities, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. This involves identifying and fixing barriers that prevent users from accessing and interacting with the content, such as issues with text alternatives for images, keyboard navigation, color contrast, and document structure.
Many websites employ a overlay plug-in strategy, to make compliance modifications “on the fly” when a user chooses to view the site while activating the plug-in. Here’s a great overview on the pros and cons of using an overlay plug-in.
Using an overlay on your website is questionable at best, but the short answer is this: in the long run, plug-ins do not work as well as building your site with compliance from the beginning – which is what we do.
We build your website with ADA compliance in mind from the beginning of the process, to make sure that everything is compliant from the start. And post-launch, we continue to monitor and fix anything that pops up due to changing ADA regulations, website modifications by either your staff or ours, browser updates from Google / Firefox / Safari / Microsoft, etc etc. We are continuously studying and implementing compliance guidelines and perform frequent testing for updates or changes.
